Terms of Use
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the CutStack web application ("the service") operated by Christian Lessner ("we", "us"). By using the service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. The service
CutStack reads timeline files exported from non-linear editing software, consolidates the source ranges they reference, and produces an FCPXML file intended as a tracking and conform basis for colour grading. The service is provided free of charge during the beta period.
2. Beta status and availability
CutStack is currently in beta. It may contain errors, may change or be discontinued at any time, and may be unavailable without notice. Features are provided on a best-effort basis and may be modified or removed.
3. No warranty - verify your output
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of results. Timecode, retime and consolidation calculations are complex and depend on how the source files were exported.
You are responsible for verifying every result before relying on it in a production workflow. Always check the consolidated ranges and the exported FCPXML against your original timelines before conforming, grading or deleting any media.
4. Your content
You retain all rights to the files you upload and to the output generated from them. We do not claim any ownership of your content and, as described in our Privacy Policy, we do not retain your uploaded files after processing.
5. Acceptable use
You agree to use the service only for lawful purposes and only with files you are entitled to process. You agree not to attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer or gain unauthorised access to the service or its infrastructure, and not to use it in any way that infringes the rights of others.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, media, time or profit, arising out of or in connection with your use of (or inability to use) the service, including any reliance on its output.
7. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the service evolves. The current version is always available on this page, with the date of the latest revision shown above. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
8. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
